Overview
The Sahara Express is our most popular tour and combines the best of both worlds. Get a real taste of nomadic life camel trekking across golden dunes and setting-up wild camp under the shade of a tamarisk tree. Enjoy dinner round the campfire and sleeping outdoors under the stars.
The next day pick up the pace with a thrilling 4×4 desert safari to the great dunes of Erg Chigaga. Driving off-road, passing panoramic vistas, desert oasis, wild camels and stunning landscapes. Visit desert nomads and ancient shrines to reach your bivouac mid-afternoon. Then explore the big dunes at leisure and take-in the magnificent sunset before enjoying dinner and music round the campfire. The next day watch the desert sunrise before heading back to M’Hamid across a different desert route. A tour that offers stacks of adventure and insights into desert life.
What you’ll do
Arrive at your eco-lodge in the afternoon. Enjoy a Saharan welcome tea. Explore the village at leisure before dinner round the campfire and overnight.
After breakfast, depart for a leisurely camel trek across palm groves, dunes and ancient Kasbahs. Wild camp under the stars with a few nomadic surprises.
Take in the sunrise, breakfast, and enjoy a final trek in the dunes before joining your 4×4 for a thrilling off-road ride across the Sahara Desert. Sunset at Erg Chigaga with dinner and music at your bivouac.
Sunrise at the big dunes, breakfast and return by 4 x 4 via a different route. Arrive in M’Hamid around 11.00h.

How to Book

2) Reserve your tour with a €50 deposit. The balance can be paid on arrival or in advance of your tour. Any discounts will be applied at the time of booking.
3) Receive a confirmation email with tour details, travel information and confirmation of payment. Use your secure log-in to view your booking.
4) Private Transport to/from M’Hamid can also be booked via our website.

All our tours are all inclusive from M’Hamid: this includes desert transport, camels, accommodation (bivouac or tents for camping), camping equipment and supplies, guides, chefs, all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), water and refreshments.
Transfers to and from M’Hamid are not included and can be booked separately through us upon request. See transport.
